What is the best way to copy your VCR tapes to your PC? ?
from the RCA connectors.. 1 video two audio…?? What will allow me to make them like AVI but edit it from time to time….
Old style VCRs doesn’t have a digital output, so you have to capture and convert the analog composite video signal and audio signals. On the PC side you need an analog video capture board, a sound card to capture the audio and a video capture/editing software. You can also find on the market external USB devices that contains all these things.
The composite video is the yellow RCA connector that goes straight to your capture board.
The left audio is the white RCA connector and the right audio is the red RCA connector. These could be mixed on a stereo jack plug that enters into soundcard input socket.
If your VCR doesn’t have the three RCA connctors, You can buy or build a SCART to RCA cable (for cable schematic see: http://www.allpinouts.org/index.php/Scart_to_RCA_and_S-Video_adapter).
